Treasures From The Met: Phillipe de Montebello's Show At The Metropolitan Museum Of Art

Before Christmas, my wife and I spent a long weekend in New York City to visit relatives, shop, dine, and take in some cultural events. One exhibit we visited was the curator's show at The Met: A selection of Phillipe de Montebello's personal favorites collected over his 30 year tenure at the museum. Here are my favorite selections culled from this show:
Paintings and sketches by DaVinci and other Renaissance artists.
Edwardian painting of a bored, pouting young beauty.
Paul Klee watercolor.
A jade Mayan mask from circa 800 A.D.

Day At The Races

On Saturday, June 21st, (summer solstice) I was a guest of Pirelli Tires at the EMCO Grand Am 2008 Races at Mid-Ohio Race Course in Lexington, Ohio.  Pirelli hired Brulant as a partner in interactive marketing the day before and several Brulant associates were Pirelli's VIP guests at the races.  Just after the race began, it started to rain, causing several crashes and skid-outs.  We had access to Pit Row during the action and got to view the excitement up-close.  Afterward, we were invited to stand on the Winner's Podium for pictures.  The race lasted approximately 2.5 hours and the cars averaged in excess of 150 mph over the 3.5 mile course.

Ancient Sanskrit Prayer

Look to this day.
For it is life.
The very life of life.
In it's brief course
lie all the realities
and varities of existence:
The bliss of growth
The splendor of action
The glory of power.

For today, well lived,
makes every yesterday
a dream of happiness.
And every tomorrow a
vision of hope.
Look well, therefore,
unto this day.
